    Planning numbers

How many office pods do you need?

There is no fixed rule, so we plan generously. These ratios allow for busy periods, back-to-back calls and team growth, so there is usually a pod free when someone needs one.

The Pod Finder above uses the same ratios when you enter your headcount, and our site survey refines them for your floor plan.

    Accessibility

    Accessible office pods

Our accessible pods are designed so a wheelchair user can use the space comfortably alongside colleagues, with a wider door and a low threshold. They come in sizes for 2, 4 or 6 people plus a wheelchair user, from the HushFree Access and Bubliing DDA ranges.

    FAQs

Choosing office pods: your questions answered

How many office pods do I need?

It depends on how your team works, but we plan generously so pods are free when people need them: around one phone booth for every 5 people and one seated focus or video pod for every 6. For meetings, allow roughly one 2-person pod per 12 people, one 4-person pod per 15 and one larger 6–8 person pod per 30. Teams that spend a lot of time on calls may need more. The Pod Finder suggests numbers from your headcount, and we refine them on the site survey.

Should I choose a phone booth or a work pod?

Choose a phone booth for short calls taken standing or perched, as it has the smallest footprint. Choose a seated work or video pod for longer calls, video meetings and focused work, as it has a desk, a seat and room for a laptop or screen.

What size meeting pod do I need?

Size the pod for your typical meeting rather than the largest one. A 2-person pod suits one-to-ones, interviews and paired work. A 4-person pod is a free-standing meeting room for small team meetings. A 6–8 person pod suits team meetings, workshops and presentations, often with a screen.

How much floor space do office pods need?

Single-person phone booths need about 0.9–1.2m², seated work pods about 1.1–2.2m², 2-person meeting pods about 1.9–2.2m² and 4-person pods about 3.0–3.4m². Larger 6–8 person pods range from about 4.3m² up to 9m². Allow extra room for the door to open and a clear walkway, which we check on the site survey.

Do I need an accessible pod?

If anyone in your team, or visitors to your office, uses a wheelchair, an accessible pod lets them use the space comfortably alongside colleagues. Our accessible pods have a wider door and a low threshold, in sizes for 2, 4 or 6 people plus a wheelchair user.

What happens after I send my shortlist?

Our team reviews your shortlist and comes back within one working day to talk it through. We can arrange a visit to our Clerkenwell showroom so you can try the pods, then a site survey to confirm sizes, layout and access before your quote.
